WTB T-56
yeah, thats right... gonna drop a t-56 in my camaro, so if anyone has one they want to sell, ill take it off your hands. bell housing doesnt matter, we'll be changing it anyhow. I'll take a strong aftermarket clutch as well, but its not necessary.

Does it matter if it is an LT1 or LS1 tranny?

That is what I thought too. I am under the impression the Lt1 version is closer to a bolt in.

lt1 trans and bellhousing should bolt right up, but she may be looking to put a bulletproof bellhousing in so if the clutch explodes it doesnt take her legs with it

I didn't think used stock T56 are that strong. I don't know her car. Is it a street car or a drag racer?

I believe it's a different input shaft. I've got both at home, Diva I'll check if you need me to.

Do 93 LT1 T56s have different gears & lower HP potential than the 94+ ones?

afaik all stock t56s have the same hp potential, but with a basic rebuild(~$900) they can handle a whole buttload of power(~550whp iirc)
as far as gear ratios...
'93 w/ 2.73 gears - 3.36, 2.07, 1.35, 1.00, .80, .60
'93 w/ 3.23 gears - 2.97, 2.07, 1.43, 1.00, .80, .62
'94-'97...............- 2.66, 1.78, 1.30, 1.00, .74, .50

that's exactly what we are doing. That's why i'm just looking for the trans. I didn't know that LS1s had a different length input shaft. But if that's the case, then yes, I'm looking for an lt1 trans. Right now i'm trying to find out if anybody on here has one, i'd rather buy from someone here than a board i don't frequent.
BTW, yes, matt is right, the car saw high 12s, right now is a low 13 sec car but that might be changing when the engine comes out anyhow. The zz4 will be torn apart when it comes out of the car.
Mike, im not sure if that was a jab at me or a jab at him, but my car runs now, i just have no reason to race it.

They did, and the 93 T-56's from a 2.73 geared car have less HP potential because of the greater gear spread.
