Here is a nutcracker of a question-best mileage on a tank

OK, what was the best mileage you obtained on a full tank of gas(stock tank 15 gal)

Now this is sure to provide some interesting results:

Mine was 360 miles (pre-stereo install and totally stock at the time)

Have you ever gotten those values? Man, I never came close to 400 miles
That would mean 26.6 mpg, and best I've gotten was 24.x

With the 3.73 gears the best I avg now is 22-23mpg on the highway.

My v6 saw a best of 33.3 mpg..... which is close to 500 miles per tank. I think I filled up with about 14.5 gallons... I was REALLY pushing it!

A4 + 3:23's + 3200 stall + skinnies =

I got 380 miles out of a tank driving down to Annapolis and back. That was with my 93 Indy Pace Car with the A4, stock 3.23's and the Powerdyne supercharger. I got 23 mpg driving the 96 SS up to the north dyno day meet. Same A4 and 3.23's but I got stuck in some decent rain on the way home.

Best I can squeeze outta my car is 28MPG. I assume since my engine is entirely untuned I could pick up a couple since its probably running rich.

I got close to 29 when we drove from Marlboro to Louden, NH in July (made it on 1 tank). I filled up at around 320 miles, but could've gone further. I just don't like running the tank too low.

When I first got my 94 Z A4 I went to upstate NY and got 27 MPG driving conservatively, now with the mods if I drive to conserve I have gotten 21 out of it, but normally its like 17.

I never really calculated my 96 because the odometer doesn't work. Only way is to look at a map and do it that way i guess.

On a side note, I did make it from my work (philly area) to Orlando, Florida, and back into Georgia before I stopped to get fuel. But that was with the bigge truck that has twin 75 gallon tanks. Best milage I got from that was 9.5 MPG when I went to Portland, Maine and back. That used up a little less then half a tank.

Ive hit 29-30 before on non stop trips to Binghamton NY. Recently averaged about 27 going down to Virginia, with a few stops. 95 Z, 3.42 6-speed. Locally I can do almost 300 to a tank mixed driving.
