finally got nailed for invalid inspection

It was bound to happen. I decided to take the iroc to class this morning and I was making a turn at a light, a cop was there and I saw him looking at my inspection sticker. So he turned around and pulled me over. Turns out the cop was a guy I knew from middle school and I think he remembered me. He didn't say anything, but he was laughing about the inspection and let me go with a warning, but I'm still in the system so the car is parked until I get that other insurance or a sticker.

I have no cat, H4 headlights are illegal, and I need a new steering wheel (for the horn) I'm just worried that if it fails and I'm in the system, then the only way I can pass is at a state facility and they will check to make sure I have a cat and a quieter exhaust, headlights etc. I'm looking into collectors insurance so all they need at inspection is odometer and safety requirments, no emissions.

STOP BREAKING THE LAW, *******!!!
ahahaha anyway, H4 headlights are illegal? How the **** is that?
You are going to tell me, that you live so close to Paterson, you cant find a "guy" with a "shop" to get you a sticker?

Ted, you want Collector Car Registration, that is gets rid of the emissions check, only odometer, horn, lights and belts.

bwahaha, yea dude, H4 are illegal because they have a "blue-ish" tint which is not factory, maybe the foreigner was just a ******* because the housings say DOT approved, I dunno, but they failed on the 92 when I had it. And you'd be surprised about the shops around here that won't touch giving out stickers anymore, I have one last source and hopefully they'll come through. In the meantime my dads going to call about collectors insurance and I'll get the registration too.

yeah that's a nasty little loophole. They claim the lights are too close to true blue which is soley reserved for emergency vehicles.. ouch.

I don't see any color difference from the stock light housing....to the H4...unless people put the "blue" lights in there.

I have both collector's insurance and registration. Collector's reg is what you need to get to not have to go through the whole inspection process. When I got mine inspected, all they did was have me drive around the block until the odometer turned over. They didn't look for or check anything else.

Question-

How old are you? If you are under 25 you probably won't be covered by most collector's insurance companies.

I'm 21, thats why my dad is setting up a policy with his vette on it as well and I will be the secondary driver. My friend had it on his 89 GTA and the rep. said they dont advertise that they cover people under 25 (their own policy) but if he was driving the car and had an accident, he'd be covered. So basically the car has to be my dads and I so happen to be using it.

I used to have sticker woes...that is why I know it is a PITA.

The state just wants to see insurance that meets state liability minimums. They don't know/care about property coverage (ie collector insurance).

Here, I called the state and asked for all the info they could send me on QQ plates and CC reg, and this is all I got:
Collector Car

QQ Plates
