2007 East Coast F-Body Nationals!!!!
hey gang,
been a while since there was much to update around here.
we are getting together the final plans and starting to sponsor hunt for the '07 East Coast Nats.
so here it is, the not official, tentative, view as a good idea of what you will see, in teh planning stages plan
Car Show:
we aren't gonna mess with success, the same classes and voting style will return from last year. we will be stepping up the styles, number, and sizes of the trophies given out though.
we also have some great new leads for prize sponsors for the car show, so expect to see more stuff given away along with the trophies thanwe had the last two years.
Test and Tune:
yes, the test and tune lanes will return to teh '07 east coast nats. so anyone who isn't interested in competition or just wants to go for some record runs will have a place to play
Competitive Drag Racing:
we are refining the system a bit this year. we will have 3 bracket classes and 2 or 3 heads up classes, rules specifics will come out in a week or so.
the basic idea for the brackets is for two foot brake style classes(True Street Radial and Drag Tire) and a pro electronics bracket.
the heads up racing will include something that resembles what was discussed for the pure street class, a more advanced class for power adder guys, and maybe some sort of open competition heads up class. if we can do the open comp class it will include a few rules thrown in specifically to prevent class killers from showing up(a lesson we learned at the clash last year), so if you are one of the faster guys you will want to keep an eye on this
we are also proud to announce that the NJFBOA is throwing up a real, CASH, prize fund this year. the base money of to award $100 to each bracket class winner and $250 to each heads up class winner. THESE ARE GUARANTEED AMOUNTS not based on minimum entries or any crap like that. we will add to the the winners amounts and add runner up prizes as we add sponsors to the event.
so, that is a little teaser to get everyone wondering and ready to work the next few weeks will include plenty of updates and hopefull we will be abel to lock in a date very very soon

Glad to see that things are rolling along. I guess I better make sure I get my stuff squared away so I can go. Good luck with this event.

a lot of that will depend on what dates the track is available and when we feel the most people will be around to attend. even if we pick a date taht it is supposed to be cool, ya never know, considering it is the end of november and i was outside wearing shorts and a t-shirt today. lol

August can be tough since it is vacation season. Maybe September? I can't really think of any major Sept events to complete with.
Edit: How about a 2007 specific sub forum?

september gets tough because we have so many younger members that go back to school. it is kind of a double edged sword.
we will work on it and let everyone know what the plan is very soon.

Bill why don't a few of us show up and run it on motor heads up. Once I get the car working down low I should be able to run with you guys on the motor. That would be some fun high 9 sec. rides on the motor heads up. Just for the ****s and giggles of it. Just a thought while waiting for spring to show up again.

we have gotten some good responses so far. i have been contacted by the usual suspects(first state, LIFBA, street lethal) as well as owners from the boston area, western new york, ohio, and a few interested parties in the south east.
i have the goodie bags all locked in, thanks again to Year One for the hook up for the third year in a row.
we will be adding a bunch of sponsors and getting the word out more online and in the press for this years nats. so expect to see a ton of great cars out at island this year

Do you have a tennative(sp) date set for this or are you still awaiting word back from the track? I know Island is a 2 hour hike for me so if I can go I will have to know in advance since it's a pain getting off work.

We have a few dates in mind, but the track hasn't set their schedule yet. This is usually done in the early part of January, and we are shooting for a date in August again. So you should have a minimum of 6 months notice
