Thought I’d pass this on. Posted over at Team Camaro and Nasty Z

Good idea to check which one you have. Melling makes most the pumps out there for everyone else.

well i have too put my 2 cents in -- we as every one else use this type oil pump as well -- but because we have over the years had had other issues with melling ( spark skatter - on the gears - from HEI ignitions ) a new motor wipes a crank out, you look and you think it was something that came into the pump ( NOPE ) its like welding beads that came out of the oil pump ) another day way too much info for this post -- and inconsistant mounting platforms straightness -- sucking air at base -- the bolt torque is to much for the housing -- been like that for years -- we went away from the over the counter $12.00 my cost as a dealer oil pump -- B&B right here in Jersey sells an anti skatter / anti cavation -- CNC gruved oil pump on the old style platform its not cheap 97.00 bucks my cost but i have not lost a motor since -- jz
