k&n airfilters
Hey how is every one tonight....anyway i am looking into geting a set of k&n airfilters for my car....i wann know what u guys think about them....and say me and this gtp run side by side the whole way....do you guys think a set of k&n's would help me beat him...cause right know i have 2 old ones and they r thick and dirty....

jsut the filters alone are little to no help. they are capable of flowing more air, but the real restriction of stock TPI is the factory air boxes. it is a free mod to open them up and you can make little scoops for them out of about $2 of sheet metal, scrap aluminum flashing will do the trick actually.
those things all togehter would be plenty to take a race from side by side to you pulling a little.

i would have to show you on a car or someone can prolly dig up pictures of it for you to fully understand.
basically if you lift up the filters you see those baffles underneath that the air has to go through, cut them out. then fab up two little runners from sheet metal that go from under the air filters down to the grill openings to catch fresh air.
it is a very cheap "ram air" mod that the TPI crowd has been doing for many years.
