? about Engine/Trans

hey im not sure where this goes but i got a ? i sold my 84 z28 to my friend as a roller now i go thim an 86 205 monte motor and a 91 firebird trans will that go into the shaft thing not sure that name cuz my friend is saying it wont work and other ppl been saying that theres like 32 groves on the trans and 30 on the motor or w.e im just wondering

output shaft? torque convertor? input shaft?
205?? you mean a 305 right?

I assume you are talking about the input shaft for the trans into the TQ convertor. You'd just use the '91 torque convertor bolted to the 86 flywheel and the transmission will bolt up fine. nothing complicated about it at all, who ever is telling you the motor has any number of splines is a complete idiot.
