Back from Sebring

very interesting weekend to say teh least. first off, teh trip down, i have never seen so many accidents blocking traffic on any of the few dozen drives to florida i have done in my life, the other thing is the rain that slowed us down. i am not talking about sprinkles here, i mean it was raining so hard that with the wipers on high in the middle of the afternoon i couldn't see 10ft in front of the car. it was nuts and it did it on and off the whole drive down.
the race was great, teh GT2 win came down to the finaly corner and a bunch of boor bangin between the team Risi Ferrari and one of the Flying Lizard Porsches. the Audi R10-TDI(200+mph diesel that sounds like an electric car when it goes by) dominated LMP1 as expected, but not without drama(major contact with about 3 hours left invovlin the team Fernandez/Lowes Acura Delara) and of course the Corvete C6-R stomped the GT1 field(i think it was 6th and 7th overall) and also debuted the new Ron Fellows Special Edition paint scheme to celebrate his final season as a professional driver.
i have several horus of video that i have to rip off the camera(fancy new toy) and if i can manage to edit it down to a highligh reel i will get some of it posted up.

for now i am tired and glad to be home.

I watched the end of the race on speed the other night. Watching the porsche & ferrari banging fenders coming to the line was great.

yeah, nothing beats watching $575,000 worth of cars(that is jsut the two cars as they are when on track, not counting spares) banging fenders is awesome.
i saw a few cars make contact and even a porsche spin out in frotn of a pack of cars, but never seemed to have the camera out when any of that happened.
Diva, as soon as i figure out how to get the video off of the camera and onto the computer, i will let you know. damn new fangled contraptions are confusing to us old folks. maybe i should try the directions, i have heard they include useful tips in those about things like, how the camera works and stuff like that. lol

they say on thebroadcast it isn't clean driving, then in the arial replay you can clearly see that bergmeister tries to pinch the line at the exit of turn 17. ol' bergy got played, plain and simple.

That rain was no joke. I actually left florida directly after a spring training game on thursday night. It was raining before the game in florida, and it rained all the way till it turned to snow in jersey when I got back on friday afternoon. I was coming back from florida at the same time you were going down I guess. Rain-X FTW!!!

Audi R10 TDI = 5.3 liter twin turbo. they won't really discuss the power it makes, jsut that it "maintains over 1000 ft/lbs". i dunno what actual number that means, but they are the only team that i cna remember having trouble keeping hewland 6speeds together. lol

if i can figure out my fancy new camera i have a picture that wil prolly make you laugh phil. the american le mans series has a contract with VP to be the official gas supplier, but they don't make diesel.
when walking around brian and i found the barrels of shell "racing" diesel fuel that the audi team was running.
