Guess who graduates this may!
<- Me!
Finally after a ridiculously long 4 years of part time work & school I will be graduating Bergen Community College with an Associates Degree in Liberal Arts History with 79 credits and a 2.9 GPA. Now just to finalize the whole deal I need to speak with a transfer person to get over into William Paterson to pursue my Bachelors in History. Today is a good day!

Just a piece of advice I wish I was given before I graduated college.
If you have your heart set on a certain career, begin looking for internships at large companies in the industry you want to work. Most large companies have internship programs year round. This will not only satisfy the internship requirements for graduation AND give you skills you can put on a resume, it will expose you to a company that may hire you right out of school. In this day and age where college graduates have a hard time finding a job that actually fits their major, having a toe in the door of a company that you interned for, is nearly priceless.
The summer between your junior and senior year, drop everything you are doing and get an internship. I wish someone had coached me to do the same.

Awesome Alex! Best of luck. And what Untamed said I couldn't agree with more. I took an internship my last summer before I graduated, but didn't really research it that well. You should definitely start looking into it. And William Paterson has a great career development center. A friend of mine is a counselor there and she could help you anytime.

Congrats Alex....spending 4 years on your associates isn't that bad. I've been taking classes on and off since the fall of 2000, I have 96ish credits, and I think I still have 4 or 5 more classes to take before I get my associates from Mercer CCC. Then I'll be looking into BS degree programs....

Congrats Dude! I will be joining you in May for graduation. I will have my Bachelors in Science from Southern Illinois University this May with a 3.8 GPA (assuming my last two classes I continue to do well in).
I am more stoked about being done with school than I am using the degree to apply to Officer Candidate School for the Air Force to cross over from an enlisted flying position to an officer pilot spot!

internships are the best way to get your foot in the door.
my buddy anthony is going to school to be a civil engineer and last summer he got an internship with whiting turner (very big contracting company). well he apparently did a good enough job that he got hired already. so all he has to do is graduate and he's already got himself a very promising job.

Awesome Alex! I should have my BS in accounting at William Paterson in another year or so, depends what classes I take over the summer and stuff. Once I get definitely no more than a year away from graduating I'll get involved in an internship.
