Heavy Gas Smell

My trunk in my T/A smells heavily of gas yet there are no puddles or anything, just smell. the smell is starting to seap into the car and smelling every where. any ideas of whats the problem?

Is the evap canister still connected up front? Check all the hoses underneath.

vent valve could be stuck open, ive heard of it happening, one grand prix i had in the past it would stick closed when it was being filled once in a blue moon. I would know it stuck colsed when a few miles later it would pop open and hiss as the vapors were escaping

Yeah if the vent valve is having problems, one of the causes could be a bad gas cap.

Not even sure they have a vent valve. My 77 does not. Mostly hard line from top of tank to cannister, with about 3 rubber lines along the way. One at the tank, one on the rear frame rail, and one up front.

Good call on gas cap. Could be.

Jack the back up nice & safe and slide you butt under there and look. There are not that many parts.
