Got pulled over 20 minutes ago

So I'm leaving base to go home on my lunch break. I'm driving the T/A and I still have the slicks/skinnies on. I leave base driving 45, then start slowing down since the limit drops to 40 for about a block, then goes back up to 45. I'm doing 42 when the state cop passes me then whips a u-turn. I set the cruise at 45 in a 45 thinking I'm about to get pulled over for exhaust being too loud. He paces me then flips on the lights. I pull off on a side street and shut it down. The number of tickets i'm getting is going through my head. He walks up and asks for the usuall. He said the reason I pulled you over was because you were doing 52 in a 40. I said, I was doing WHAT!!? I remained polite, just shocked. Then it hit me...the slicks are bigger than my street tires. I said, oh, the bigger tires I have on now must have thrown off the speedo. He asks how my record is and I told him the last time I was pulled over for speeding was 2002. He goes ok and walks back to his car. He comes back with a warning and goes on his way. I'm lucky he only wrote me a warning.

I didn't think the tires threw my speedo off 7 mph ugh. Anyways, needless to say I'm driving the Vette back to work lol.

26 inch should be the regular size of the tire, despite the width. Even if its a little big bigger then 26 inches, 7 mph off is still a lot. I think the Statie needs his gun recal'ed. I would have busted out my air force special forces moves on him and entered him into a world of hurt....but thats me.

btw...im also on that very same driving plan..

yeah that was wierd to me too. 7 mph. I thought the 26s were the same size as stock tires? He either tagged someone else or needs a recal. I should take a pic of the 40 zone he says he tagged me in. It's no more than 200 feet. I'll be the first one to admit if I was doing anything wrong, but I know for a fact I wasn't doing 52 in a 40.

There no way your speedo was off that bad. My friend drives a truck that came stock with 28in tires and now has 40in tires on it. his speedo is only off 10mph

I do, but the car has been tuned for the gear change. I think he tagged someone else by mistake and pulled me over for it.
