Another motorcycle question

About Kawasaki Ninjas in 250 or 500cc or the Suzuki GS500...

So I'm looking for a motorcycle and I have been doing a lot of reading & studying and I've finally come to my senses on purchasing a used started bike to learn with.

I really like the newer Kawasaki Ninjas and they are definitely affordable and in my price range. Also I could probably use it, learn on it, and sell it when i feel comfortable and not loose much on it since they seem to be somewhat desired used.

Does anyone have experience with either of these bikes? One of my biggest concerns is a 250 going to be to small? I'm a pretty light person so I'm sure that would help but I don't want to die trying to merge onto the highway due to lack of no power.

Talk to me!

the first bike i ever rode and learned on was a 94 ninja 250. My friend had bought it and over the summer, my friends and I, all took turns riding it to get used to handling, shifting, braking etc. Once i was comfortable on that, i found a 88 ninja 600 for 1600 and continued to learn on that. That 88 was still probably a 13 sec bike.
The newer 250s probably have the same amount of power, considering a 600cc sized bike can now get into high 10s just about stock.

On a side note, my friend is selling a '07 ninja 250 for $3,000 obo, It has only about 5 miles on it and some light scratches.
