OH NO! Don't tell Al Gore...
Yet another article on how some of Al Gore's "facts" are complete b*******.
Nothing like more propaganda to strike fear in people to make a a**load of $$$.

Agreed.
Don't get me wrong I care about the planet and global warming is REAL...however I question WHY the Earth is getting warmer. I dispute the reasons Mr. Gore is stating as "fact". It's funny how you throw some graphs and pictures up on a screen and suddenly the sheep coming flocking in.

global warming is real?
why is this year cooler than last year?
why was last year hotter than average?
why was the title topic of the first earth day conference global cooling only 30 years ago? did we somehow manage to cause so much damage in 30 years that we have reversed the temperate direction of the planet?
if we are to blame for all global temperature changes how does one explain the previous 20+ ice ages the planet has lived through?
how does one explain the "little ice age" that occured all over the world when the industrial revolution was in it's infancy?
global warming is overhyped crap. yes, the temperature fo the planet is changing, in perfect time with the natural rhythm of change over the last how many billion years.
the excuses and fear created around global warming is retarded. the products that get pushed around, the multi billion dollar projects that get passed off as world saving, and all the little puppets standing up to talk about what you need to buy to protect yoruself don't have any real basis for their arguments, just hype and healines.

Tim FTMFW!!!!!!!! These idiots that cry about global warming and how it's an iminent threat should look at how the record highs and lows vary from year to year. If it was a constant increase, then you could say global warming is something to be worried about. But if tomorrow's record high was 100 degrees in 1997 (which it was, cause I saw it on the news before), and it's only gonna be 80 tomorrow, then this is NORMAL FLUCTUATION, nothing to be concerned about.

In my opinion, we need "radicals" on both sides of the arguement to keep each other in check. I personally dismiss a lot of this as hype but at least it gets people thinking about their own impact on the environment, which is a good thing.

Sure, it's great to get people thinking but the problem is that this country/government/society is SO quick to pass laws for the sake of passing laws. Create/pass laws first, research later. Spend $$ on off the wall **** and then research later. Raise $$$ in the name of saving out planet but where does all of that $$ go?

Al Gore is an opportunist just like the rest of them. And global warming has becoming nothing but a marketing tool.

I'm sure most of it goes to bureaucracy and wasted spending. If you really want to get pissed about wasting money, see if you can find a list of government projects that took so long to excecute that their end result was obsolete years before it was completed. That will make you puke.

i am by no means saying that humans do not have an impact on the enviroment, i know the opposite is very true. i just personally believe that the places people are looking to "save the world" are completely skewed thanks t a lot of well thought out sales pitches and scare tactics.
we knock down trees because you jsut can't survivie if is it a 9 mile drive to walmart instead of only 4, or because the neighborhood that could use a little paint and a lawn mower isn't as good as the brand new one with the half sized lots.
most of the "alternative" fuel sources are also crap. anyone who is in love with E85 and all the other bio fuel mess, i have one question. once all the farms either close or convert to soy so you can feel better about putting gas in your hummer, where are you gonna get your eggs and milk? i guess no one was watching while the price of those items doubled over the last 5 years.
the answer to healthier enviroment is simple, plant some trees, allow controlled hunts to keep animal populations in line with available food supplies, and buy items that last longer or is recycleable so that less crap has to be put into land fills.
the planet has been around and balancing itself for a long time, there is no need to save it from our pathetic existance. it woudl jsut be nice if we coudl save ourselves from our pathetic existance with jsut a few minutes a day of actual thought

 @ the article
I'm sure we do have an impact on the earth's climate and everything but not to the extent that Al Gore and others are making it out to be. Experts have even said that Earth is not the only planet experiencing these changes, other planets in the solar system are as well. I was also informed that back in the 70's there was this same hype, but about global freezing....it's all BS by politicians

imho, we have had a positive impact on the environment. imagine where we would be if we kept littering like we used to in the '70s. imagine the s*** we'd be breathing if all cars kept polluting like they did in the '60s. imagine how different life would be if we didn't watch how we pollute the environment (with real pollution from factories and such) like it was in the '50s.
it is my considered opinion that we have had a good impact on the environment. we can do more, but the hype and scare-tactics don't fool me. only the crying indian wouldn't have much of an impact on today's society, so i guess you gotta do what you gotta do.

let's all jsut come up with one or two easy solutions each, impliment them here in jersey, and savethe planet.
my solutions:
1: Problem - Airbourne polution.
Solution - Planting trees, natures air filter.
Reasoning - There is no more renewable resource than green plants. They grow everywhere and anywhere in this country. A side benefit would be that if push came to shove, we also have a fuel source and a habitat that would support the collection of food built in to the forrest we plant.
2. Problem - Passenger Vehicle Emissions
Solution - Enforcing the speed limit
Reasoning - Everybody knows that it burns more fuel to get up to and maintain higher speeds than lower speeds. Slowing the general flow of traffic by enforcing the speed limits, or even keeping people with in 5 to 10 mph of the speed limit would greatly reduce emissions.
Side benefits would be fewer highway fatalities since accidents would be occuring at a lower and assumably more survivable rate of speed, and also the towns could benefit from the increased revenue stream brought on by additional tickets being written. Maybe then Ewing could then go two years in a row without a retardedly high property tax increase.
anyone else have any simple solutions that could be implemented without huge expense or terrible amounts of effort?

problem: refuse (garbage)
solution: complete seperation of product packaging and other trash, compost natural stuff (egg shells, banana peels, etc)
side-benefit: not only are you helping the recycling effort, but you would be building your own compost heap that you could use as fertilizer in your garden or under your lawn, whatever you want to grow better/faster/last longer. also, if you seperate out the paper and cardboard, you can use that in a fireplace or franklin stove to help heat your place in the winter. it's not that much more effort, as we are already seperating plastics, glass and metal.

Agreed on your points. It still just shows how many sheeple we have in this country. It's amazing how a few incorrect graphs and some false pictures will get people hook, line and sinker.
