first time racing

so i went to the ttp track rental today for support since my t/a's brakes weren't ready yet. so i sat around and ate/watched racing/bothered people all day. so towards the end of the day matt breaks out the diesel ram pickup and runs it, so i challenge him in my dads excursion. i did 4 runs with it, the second being the best thanks to the advice of george benson.

heres how it broke down with a 2001 ford excursion, 6.8L triton v-10, weighing about 8500lbs with stuff in it (8000 stock)

Second run

R/T: .165
60': 2.615
330: 7.542
1/8: 11.645
MPH: 60.02
1/4: 18.086
MPH: 77.01

the others were like 18.3, and two 18.1's

george coached me on when to leave off the light resulting in the somewhat good R/T (for a first timer). and yes, i had the truck doing some sick burnouts with street tires. it has 2 dana 60 axles with 4.10's (only had it in 2wd though), when i ran the first run i forgot the a/c was on, but for the other 3 it was off, along with the overdrive off

What are you doing with the front suspension? Because them ladder bars scream out drag only. (feel free to start a new thread on this in the tech section).

Feather-light suspension, Konis just couldn't hold. I'm so glad I took a look inside your showroom doors.
