bad luck friday night

so since i got the v6 last tuesday, i havent driven the t/a. so i bring it out and go to work. after work i go out with it, and had to drag my sister along. had a good time even after having to drag her around. anyway, going home, i get off 1 exit too soon on rt. 80 and wind up on rt. 20 in paterson. i figure i need to turn around, so i see a few u'ies, but they go into the ghetto. so i figure, yea, theres one up by the BK so ill go there. so im approaching it, and start to slow down, and sure enough i take my foot off the brake and WHAM!. got rear ended by 2 people. to make matters worse, it was like 11:30 and i had SATs on saturday. didnt get till bed until about 1:30. and i think i bombed the SAT's for the 3rd time. anyway the damage to the T/A is minimal. but the rear bumper is bent/messed up. im pretty sure since 2 people rear ended me its not my fault. this is good because my rear bumper was messed up to begin with. so now ill find a nice fiberglass one, have it put on, painted and such, and wont have to pay a dime.

and if your too lazy to read this thread heres the basics

friday, rear ended in 80 trans am, getting fiberglass bumper

FWIW, I got rear ended in my first Grand Prix and the officer told me that if you are rear ended it is almost never your fault. The person behind you is supposed to keep a proper following distance at all times and should be able to stop in time even if you slam on your brakes and come to a complete stop.

Glad it ended up ok. Next time you get rear ended in a place like Patterson, late at night, check to make sure there aren't 3-4 guys getting out of the car real fast and rushing you. More people get jacked by ploys like that than any other.

I think the only exception is if you cut someone off and then they rear end you in the process. Thats the only case i know of where its the person in front who would be found to be at fault.

wow, glad you and your sis are ok and the car isn't badly damaged. I also agree with Untamed. Another thing to pay attention to in paterson and other lovely neighborhoods is when coming to a red light, leave enough room between the front of your car and the car in front of you so that if anything happens you can turn out and drive away. People sometimes plot to box you in and if you're too close to the car in front of you you're stuck.

so i talk to insurance today. they told me that apparently the officer wrote it down as my fault. when 2 cars rear ended me. the lady behind me said that i cut her off with no signal and slammed on the brakes. so its MY fault now. but i was in the left lane the whole time....time to go to paterson and mess things up now with the dad

Young guy driving a sports car late at night in a town he doesn't live in, gets rear ended by a lady. You already have three strikes against you, regardless of circumstances.

Hope things work out for you man.

Don't get a fiberglass one. Get a urethane one dude.If you even just get a tap with the fiberglass one it'll just shatter. Sorry you got whacked bro. Thats crap. Leave it to a female that can't drive, prolly talking on her cell and doing her make up at the same time to ruin your day!
