Engine stand?

Anyone know where I can get an engine stand pretty cheap? Or would anyone have one that I could borrow for a few weeks?

I bought one from Strauss Auto a few years ago for about $60, IIRC. Do whatever you can to make sure you get one with 4 casters on it; they're much more stable than the 3-caster stands.

Unlless your comming down to south jersey for any other reason, just go to your local Pep Boys or other leading chained auto parts store and buy one. Its not expensive and when your done, just disasemble it and put it in a corner.

I like the 4-caster one I got; very stable, easy to put together, and the long handle made it easy to flip the motor over to put the crank in. It looks like this one -

BTW, I saw that one on the Harbor Freight website for $39.99 - there's a Harbor Freight in Ewing that's probably ~40 minutes from you. Good luck with your build!
