Should I Sell My LT1?

hey everyone its been awhile.... well yeha i have a 96' Pontiac Firebird Formula M6, Black with dark gray leather interior, no t-tops and has 107,000. Overall the car is pretty clean, there is no sign of oil burning or leaking... the undercarrage looked like its brand new, odd for a jersey car but hey.. heres the thing it needs and i want opinions on if i should fix it and keep it or fix it and sell, btw i worked for Burns as a sales person at honda and got the car for 5 grand a yr ago with 90,000 miles

driver side headlight motor is goin, it skips when u shut them off and its shakes like crazy when driving (DO THE BRASS GEARS REALLY FIX IT???!!)

Headliner is bad, got an estament for 90 bux

tires are almost bald

its showing all the signs for a bad optispark.... part of me wants to go msd and part of me doesnt cause im not going to go nuts with the car but msd seems liek a bang for the buck with what they do with it

the front part of the dash, where the defrost vent is.. right in front of the vent, the like 3/4 in of plastic between that and the other forward part of the dash cut in half out of no where a fews months ago.. id liek to fix that with a new piece, any suggestions?

the steering wheel has give on it.... i drove my friends 98 6cyl and it was tight as hell.... im guessing rag joint maybe?

o and like a month after i had the car i broke the antenna right off... should i go to gm for a new one? someone said ot buy a blakc shorty but i like the power antenna

mods are as follows.. flomaster muffler, K&N cold air kit and a trickflow alum elbow

now the question is.. sell it for a good price when i fix all this cause.. ill send pics.. it is a very clean car, and get an ls1 car... or stick out with the lt1.. the reason i want to stick it out is cause.. i dont see many lt1s out there.. esp formula 6 spds with leather interior and the 10 speaker system.. i dunno.. i jsut want a few ppls opinions.. thanks!....... but then again ive driven ws6's i do like how they look and drive better........ ah the decision

the only problem if you fix all that, is that you'll never get back whta you put into it. its just one of those things, expect to get about half of the money you spent on repairs back on the selling price of the car.

I agree with Melissa, if you end up fixing everything your going to spend a pretty penny and then you'll end up not selling it. Which could go both ways, or you could bail before you go head over heals into fixing it. Theres a point with all cars when there is no turning back, either you start pouring money into it that you'll never get or you get rid of it while the expenses are minimal.

Like others have said, you're going to put a few $ into it just to sell it and break even? If you like the car fix it and keep it. But even the LS cars are now getting older, if you buy one you're only 1-2 years away from maybe the same type problems? Other then the engine/opti is basically the same car as you got now.

fix the headlight and get some nice used tires and sell it. if you fix everything, you'll never get your money back. fix it just enough so that it'll be roadworthy for a while. then get an LS1 car.

you probably dont need the brass gears, you can usually pop the stock gears out and rotate them 180 degrees and put them back in. when the headlight goes up and down the gear spins less than half way....so flipping it will make it good as new for a decent amount of mileage
.....its also free so its worth trying before you spend any money.....
