anyone know how to turn it off on a laptop? I have a sony vaio with vista. its incredibly annoying when i'm typing because if my hand slips on the touchpad, it moves the typing cursor to where the mouse is. i've searched google and control panel with no luck. thanks

on my HP theres a big button above the touchpad... but i think it deactivates the whole pad.

I just learned to avoid it with my palms, lol. Really hard when intoxicated.

mouse and keyboard options in control panel? My dell has the option under the mouse options in one of the tabs.

Granted, this is XP.

Is there an icon for the touchpad software in the lower right corner of the screen? If so, you should be able to turn it on and off from there.

If not, I can check Vista tonight when I get home to see what I find on my wife's laptop.

I think Vista hides them somewhere else....could be wrong though. I still don't know it well enough to say for sure.

the mouse and keyboard options don't have it on vista, only XP. more the reason to switch back IMO. no touchpad icon, but my friends dell has the icon and lots of options
