Why does California hate us?

Not us as in NJ... us as in anybody who enjoys performance cars... and it goes for trucks and suvs too... they've just lost it now

If you ever went to California you would see why. Their smog problem really is a problem. Personally, I think that high performance enthusiasts should bite the bullet and look for more emissions friendly ways to make a high performance car, rather than bitching and fighting the inevitable.

All i want answered is even thou these new cars will have to meet emmision standards and what not, does this mean that our muscle cars now and all the way back to the hot rods from the 30's wont be able to drive on the street in the future?

Like I said in another thread, cars make up less than 1% of the emissions problem, the other 99+% is industry. Even if you make cars 10% more emissions friendly, you've only changed the dynamic by .08%. Yippie. What they need to do is go after industry and if you can make a change there, it might actually do something, instead of piss off car enthusiasts. Or is it more about money? How many people will have to go out and buy new cars with all of this?

I can only imagine how much that would jack up new car prices

As it is, I'm pretty sure it only applies to new cars. So old cars would be all the more valuable.

Haha...you beat me to it. I was going to say it's only a matter of time before they fall into the Pacific anyway.

They had their electric cars but they were discontinued for no good reason. They should bring back the EV’s and ship them all to them...

You mean GM shoud have continued to foot the bill for that experiment?

In retrospect, GM should have continued to invest in EV1. Had they continued to improve the car, and come up with updates...Toyota would not have the percieved technological edge over GM.

They gave it a short run and bad advertising, maybe if they put more thought into it they could of made a good profit out of it. And not only GM but Ford, and Toyota. Just do soemthing to shut them hippies up lol...
