Dads Camaro
This is my dads 91 RS. Its a nice car i think. its a weird option RS with a numbers matching 350 H.O. we replaced the fenders with new from goodmark. the hood was also changed due to the fact that the black one didn't latch right and flew up and bent around the roof. amazingly it did no damage to the windsheild or t-tops. it now has weld draglites on the back too. all the wheels are polished. We would also like to squeeze a 454 in it. what do you think?

looks like a nice project, i had a teal 92 RS
the only way to get a 350 in an RS would be with the police package B4C, which was a Z28 in RS clothing. they thought the Z28's spoiler obscured vision so they used an RS wing, decals, and hood. Check ur RPO list in the rear locking compartment and look for code B4C

shoehorn that 454 in there! better yet, build yerself a small block 454 (or 427 if you feel queasy about boring and stroking a motor. man, what a project. the best suspension capabilities of the third gens and you're going to stuff a serious motor in it. wish i had thought of that.
oh, wait, i did. i just haven't finished said project yet. although i have started the body...

As far as I know B4C's came as Hardtops only, and my man's has T-Tops. It definitely looks like an RS. A numbers matching 350 H.O.? Is it TPI,TBI or Carbed? If it's got a carb then some work was definitely done in that engine. If it's TBI, it may be a 305. And if it's TPI it may have been swapped out of a Z28.
Of course I could be completely wrong. Used to be a big third gen fan and always loved the 91-92 styling. That's a solid looking car you and your Dad got there. Good luck with it. I hope this new hood stays on for ya! That must have been scary when that happened. I'da pooped me pants!

Sounds like a swap. The 8th digit will let us know for sure. None the less cool car and you have a great engine to build on.

i checked it today, its an E. either or, i checked the bc4 specs and it matches it all. it is a 5.7, has a limited slip rear diff, has 4 way discs, HAD the 16'' rims with 245/50/r16 (changed to 255/50/16s, now 15'' draglites), and has a 145 mph speedo. it all matches. and thanks again for the support.

If it's an E (TBI 305) code, then it's not a B4C. The L98 (TPI 350) was VIN code 8.

There wasn't a "350" code on the RPO sheet. If it came stock with the 350 TPI, it would have the "L98" code on the RPO, and the 8th digit of the VIN would be 8.

Hey no big deal if it's a swap. That TPI is miles away better than the 305 TBI...that engine is a dog. Better the TPI than the alternative, swap or not!
Good Luck!
