Strange noise....

Recently my car has been making a mysterious "knocking/rattling noise" under the hood on the passenger side. it doesn't always do it just occassionaly. any ideas? maybe a heat shield or something?

Does it only happen going over bumps or at certain other times?

Any noise when driving straight on a smooth road?

I only notice it when im going like 10 mph like through a parking lot. It did it a few times when the car was idling but it was quieter and everytime I pop the hood and get out to check it it stops.

yeah i think i heard it actually when i drove it around the corner. its really weird. more like a plastic kind of hitting something noise. its not the fan as far as we could tell. almost like an inner fender tapping something. but if it does it while idling, that's not the case. maybe you got mice!

I had a similar rattling i attributed to an exhaust issue , Put the car up and discovered it was a tranny issue. Put car back down and pushed clutch in , noise stops. I almost flipped thinking it was a throwout bearing or an input shaft. Take the car to Pat Barret in Westwood and thank god its only a front bearing...

I kinda thought maybe exhaust issue, but it doesn't constantly do it. however I did notice a couple times when I closed the door I would hear that same noise. so maybe a heat shield or something.

Maybe you have a loose inner fender?
