Best way to get from Passaic County to Yankee Stadium?
Just like the title says, I need to the best way to get to Yankee stadium from Passaic County. Preferably the train, maybe the ferry (if someone knows how that works, as the info I see says the ferry leaves 30 minutes after the last out, and what happens if we don't want to stay the entire game). I don't want to drive in if I don't have to.
I have the train station not even a mile from my house, but it apparently doesn't run south to Newark where I can transfer to get to Penn station after 2pm, and tomorrow's game is a 7pm game.
Someone tell me which stations I can get a direct line to New York Penn Station from? I can transfer then to one of the subway lines from there. I just need to get there, and I'm having a hard time reading the schedules online. I don't mind driving to the Bergen county stations if needed, I just need to know which I can take in to the city.

According to the NJT website, you can take the Main Line or Bergen County Line to Secaucus Junction. You can change there and catch a number of trains that go into Penn Station. Once out of Penn Station, walk up 34th Street to Herald Sq (Broadway/6th Ave) to the Subway Station for the B or D trains. Check the schedule, though, because I think the D doesn't stop at 161st St. during rush hour in peak direction (the time you'll be going). Once on the Subway, the best thing to do is follow all the Yankee people. When leaving, take the D back to Manhattan because it's express.

No parking at secacus. It's just a transfer station. I already tried that.

I never could understand why they built such a ridiculously large station like Secaucus and not offer parking there. Typical NJ I guess.

Reading comprehension...I didn't want to drive. Lol. We took the train in. MUCH better than driving. Except when we got to secacus at 11pm and the next train out back to the Lyndhurst station wasn't until 12am. So we went up and took a taxi...but it wasn't too bad.
Great game. I was a bleacher creature, lol
