Computer problem

Id unno what it is...but after spending some time on my computer, it starts to do weird things.

First off, the Yahoo toolbar that is on top disappears. Then shortly after that, I cannot click on links. I click on them, but nothing pops up. Its not the pop up blockers cause I turn that off to make sure. Still nothing.
Also, when I try to open up a new tab, it just freezes up and thats it. It doesnt leave a blank where I can type in a web address.
I also cannot copy and paste things, and unless I restart teh computer, it wont go away.
WTF?

What browser are you using? If your using IE, try using Firefox, or vice versa, just to see if it gives you the same problem, because that'll narrow it down to either being program related or windows related.

Do you have another computer where you can download the anti-spyware given above from? Thats most likely your problem.

If you are using IE7, take a look at Tools-> Manage Add Ons.

See if there is anything out of the ordinary in there. If so, disable them. You can also use BHO Demon to look at your browser help objects to see what's up.

In some cases it's best to find the BHO and disable it rather than delete it using a spyware program. A lot of the spyware these days looks for itself in the system registry/DLL list and if it's not there it reinstalls itself. If it's there but disabled you should be fine.

Most issues have been fixed with SP1. No other problems to report from 3 vista comps that me and my gf have, must be magic :dunno: The only "annoying" thing I have found is the UAC, but that has been disabled since day 2 of my laptop. But anyways this is not a Vista vs XP thread.

Late edit... here's why people hate Vista http://blog.seattlepi.nwsource.com/m...ves/141343.asp

not an xp vs vista thread, but still. Vista requires ton more cpu usage and ram compared to xp they both have media center and virtually all of xp's bugs are ironed out now. Xp on a new computer blows away vista. & they have vista emulators for xp. feels just like using vista with out bogging down your computer. I will personally stay with xp untill something alot better comes along or I get the money for a nice mac.

And a sports car requires a bigger investment, more gas, and insurance payments than honda civic, so we should all drive hondas. If you have a decent rig vista will run fine and dandy; that's my personal opinion because I have never seem to have bad luck with this horrible OS like the rest of the world. I should start playing lotto again

Dude, stop. Vista works for 98% of the people using Windows. If Linux was FTW you would have been using it since its inception, and not since Vista (Please stop before you babble about how you used it when and where.).

Driver issues for the obscure products you use, and the fact you base your "Buggy" intiutions on older versions of Vista are moot. Just stop.

Vista is just fine for regular users. Al, try going to Trend Micro http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

Run that program and see if it comes up with anything.

Saitin, which Im going to assume you meant Satin. Your experience means nothing. You tested Vista in a beginning phase, and are now suggesting to people they need to switch. No SP patches, nothing. So your experience with Vista and its releases mean **** to this post.

And lmao at playing with Linux since 98. Welcome to anyone with a PC. Like 98 is a distant memory for all of us. When it comes to real matters, just shush, child.
