Unhappy what the ****.

Last night my friend Jay DeRaffele was killed in a car accident...he was the passenger of a drunk driver. An underage one at that. Jay was 27, had a 1 year old and a 1 month old child at home. Some of you may have seen him at Island Dragway, which is where i first met him...he had a silver GTO with an STS rear mount, running low 10's. i would really like to go find the driver and shoot her in the ****ing face, this is ********.

Police said a drunk driver was behind the wheel when a car crashed into an embankment in West Milford this morning, killing the father of two young children.
The victim, 27-year-old township resident Jay DeRaffele, had two sons -- one a year old and the other a month old.
Family and friends said he went to great lengths to help anyone who needed it.
"He always went above and beyond…on more than one occasion," said his sister, Jenny Sibley.
"He was a great guy. He'd do anything for you," said longtime friend Jason Dockray, who also worked at the victim's garage, DeRaffele Automotive on Marshall Hill Road.

DeRaffele not only made fixing cars his living but also his hobby, racing and toying with them in his down time.
"He was really into his cars," Sibley said.
DeRaffele graduated from West Milford High School in 2000 and from Pace University, which he attended on a football scholarship, in 2004.
Marshall Hill School Principal Mike McCormick, who was the principal of West Milford High School (WMHS) when DeRaffele was a student there, said DeRaffele was a student athlete who shined at both the football and baseball.
"I remember him being a great kid," McCormick said.
DeRaffele leaves behind two sons, Jayden, 1 year, and Brandon, 1 month.
Avery Meyer, 18, was behind the wheel of a 1988 Volkswagen, with DeRaffele in the passenger seat, when the car ran off East Shore Road and struck a rock wall around 1:45 a.m. today.
She has been charged with death by auto and driving under the influence, as well as several other motor vehicle offenses, Lt. Timothy Storbeck said. She was being held pending bail at the West Milford police station.
Storbeck said that he had no information on how Meyer and DeRaffele knew each other or how Meyer might have obtained alcohol.
DeRaffele was pronounced dead at the scene, the lieutenant said.
The fatal crash comes little more than a week after 21-year-old Megan Buske, a West Milford High School graduate, was killed after her GMC Canyon hit the back of a tanker trailer on the right shoulder of Interstate 287 in Mahwah.

theres the story from NorthJersey.com....i wasnt GREAT friends with the guy, but he was an awesome dude. always happy and always helped me out with my cars and stuff.

That's a terrible story. My condolences to his family. It doesn't say anything about a wife or girlfriend, was he a single father?

I'm so sorry for your loss.

And I know the driver. I graduated high school with her last year. She was in one of my classes.

Sorry to hear about your loss... is that GTO an LS2? Because I remember BS'ing with a guy in his mid 20's about his car (he just purchased it around that time, about 2 years ago) after I ran him. If it was him, he was definately a nice guy.

ok that sucks about the kids and family losing their father, but I have to be the one that sounds like a dick here.

I have no remorse for the driver nor anyone who let themselves get into a situation where they are in a car with someone drunk. You guys always blast me when i make comments about how cool you are that you drink so heavily and drive and think you are tough guys. How tough is this guy now, he's DEAD. The girl deserves to rot in hell but again the court system will find a reason for her to be on the road in no time. She had a rough life, maybe she was depressed, medication. I don't care she should be killed, but not electrocution or needle. they should keep her locked up until his children can be given a bat to beat her to death slowly.

This is a sad story that should have never happened. I'm sorry you lost a friend, but he made a stupid decision and I can't really feel sorry for him.

I guess she put a gun to his head and forced him in the car.

Your friend wasn't too bright. Don't go acting like he was some great guy, he was such a great guy he allowed an underaged drunk person to drive.

Instead of just mother****ing her, add him too it also. At least one dumbass was erased instead of taking out someone that was really a great person going the other way.
