Paramus inspection station sucks!
i went there today and i failed inspection. understandable with the tinted tail lights and i need a new window motor, okay w.e. but when he tells me there are no cats on the car then theres a problem. i was like they are right on there and he tells me that oh he couldnt see them. Next i pull in then some P.O.S sits there and revs my car up(before the exhaust/emissions check) for no reason. Lastly he must have not have had it in first so he went to go, didnt move so he revs it up and puts it in first and i hrear a loud metal to metal bang that hurt my ears. I filed a damage report and complained about the guy. and when i brought it up to him he was like oh i didnt do anything it was the car that did it.

you should have brought it to a private inspector
you won't fail for an abs light in most cases. as long as the emergency brake holds the car in drive and has "sufficient" pedal/handle reserve, that will pass too. headlight should have failed though

yeah until you get hit with the $150 ticket for failure to inspect. thats almost 3x's what you would pay at a private inspaction facility for a test. whatever works though.

Agree. Those bastards even stole my change from the middle console. They failed me over stupid stuff like a gas cap failure. IMO the worse Inspection station in Jersey.

93 TA failed for engine swap.... I told them no its a small block 350 heavily modded and to shove it. Wrote a complaint and got it through. I told them its my right to have a carb and not fuel injection.

I second that! And Ridgewood was the best. It really sucks they shut it down. But I've gone to Paramus since and I have collector's so I can't really complain about how they inspect cars.

This is why I only go to private inspection places anymore. The state just gets worse and worse every year.

Took my truck to the mays landing one. I get the fat guy, so he puts my seat all the way back. Then when he goes to to take off, he revs the **** out of it before it goes, and makes it stutter cause hes pushing the clutch in and out enough to keep it from stalling. Finally halfway through they switch the drivers. I had a few choice words for the one that took over about hiring people who cant even drive manuals. You know im sure its a requirement before you work there to know it, not learn while on the job. When I got in, the seat was left all the way back, and it smelled a little of clutch. I didnt even know there was a damage report you can file, I would of if I knew, cause its frigging new

Fake stickers or paying $100 to pass is the way to go. I took my 2000 WS6 through Deptford inspection before i modded it....bastards were fighting each other to see who got to inspect my car. Was actually quite funny....till the dumb bitch broke my seat motor button. State paid for it though.

********, the old bastard there told me my car was too loud; when my dad and I both told him that the Tenafly police said it's not he says "well the cops are wrong."
Hell, my second time trying Paramus is where I finally passed after getting shot down like 4 other times
