I bought a $100 Pioneer head unit at Target a few months ago, and it's got a green backlit display. It sounds great and has a LOT of features for the price. - http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PU...eer/DEH-2000MP

try looking into head units who's face backlight color you can change. my cheapie cd player in the beretta has this feature, it can also cycle the backlit colors every few seconds. id think if my cheapie cd player has that you should be able to find that on a nicer model. try best buy or something.

Alpine son

That one stuck out to me because i remembered it being in a catalog.

and btw nastyellessone, if i'm not mistaken it's quite the opposite with the whole color changing thing. I don't think that many higher end models change color, of course i'm probably wrong though

Customized Alpine, red. My friend (he's in Pittsburgh, EE/CE dual major and an expert electronics guy) did the change, although it did void the warranties on it. It was an older unit, and the Volume control stopped working, so I took it to him to get it fixed, and he said he'd have to pull off the lights and everything, asked me if I wanted new ones in a different color, so I had him change it over. It was originally green.

He also did a similar conversion on my CB Radio.
