Computer problems...

I got a virus on my computer the other week, My friend had the same virus. it was something like xp anti spyware that it wanted me to buy. Well no big deal, I was going to switch to my back up PC and have my other computer reformatted anyway. Well some how the start button for my back up broke, and it wont turn on at all. the button got jammed into the stack..

So I switched back to my regular Computer, and now I cant start it with the start button but only the rear switch.. The computer moniter wont even read with the computer...

How can my luck be so bad I break two computers in less then a week? I tried using a different moniter but it still wont read... I hooked a different computer up to my moniter, and plugs and stuff, and everything works 100%

any ideas?

I also realized that every computer in my house has this fake AOL active update that pops up... I live in an electronic nightmare.

Did you check the clearances and the pushrod that goes to the start button? Something might have broke inside, I'd call up Dell and blame them...

On a serious note, maybe the video card in the back up PC came loose a bit which would cause the monitor not to click on. Make sure the video card is firmly in place.

It could be the ram. Try each stick of ram one by one until you find which doesnt work. It could also be the vid card or MB.
