RESULTS FROM THE 10TH PONTIAC FALL NATIONALS AT ATCO!
Well this was an awesome day. Had a chance to say hello to FBODYS4EVER and meet some really nice people. What sucked was that they changed the judging format to PEER (car owners only). That meant that EVERYTHING from 1957 to 1967 won a trophy or a Best of Class award. I enjoy the competition when you have to go against other cars in your class and let the judges decide who has the better product. Two years ago I get the Best of Show for New Gen Pontiac's and this year I didn't get enough votes to qualify for 1 of the 75 awards they gave out. Almost every OLD GTO won(1964 to 1970)and a crapload of of old Firebirds/Bonnevilles/Grand Prix etc. I don't take away from these cars getting what they deserve, but if it was judged and you were in a class, then the best JUDGED car usually should win instead of everybody voting for there favorite OLD car. My car is 18 years old now, when does it become OLD? A lot of us put in a crapload of time and effort to present their car in the best possible light, and with the cost of fuel/tolls/traveling time and entrance fee, you would like to come home with something! Just my

I don't think there will ever be a car show voting system that will make everyone happy....

this is something that happens at all shows where there are old cars there. Nothing against old cars which i like alot, but they seem to have their own clique alot and wont vote for a newer one. I questioned it one time and the answer i heard was "its harder to keep an older car looking good". I thought that answer i got was bs personally becuase when you have ANY car that is a show car they are all the same amount of work to keep nice.

The car show had some cool stuff in it too. Saw an Indy Fiero, survivor Tempest 389 factory 6pack car, 72 455 SD T/A , 7k mile 81 Turbo Pace car, and a bunch of other cool toys.

I hear what you're saying.I've been to many shows and have seen many different kinds of Judgeing. I go to carshows and cruises to hang out and meet other enthusiasts. But I have been to a few shows that are rigged. There's a local cruise that's sponsored by the local GTO club. When you pull in they give you a sheet that you fill out and leave under your wiper for the judges. Everyones sheet gets collected except for the Camaros(4 or 5 of 100)and the GTO club wins 2 or 3 (of 8) trophies every time! ***** happens dude. The only time you'll see fair judging is an all Camaro show, an all Pontiac show, an all Mopar show etc, etc.

hey ed, it was great meeting you. ias you stated. i went to the trailer for a voters form. when the lady said " you have to have a car in the show to vote" i was like WHAT? THATS THE STUPIDEST THING I EVER HEARD. she said thats the way its working. i stated thats because the gto club is running it. and theres more goats than anything there. even the event tshirts had nothing but gtos on it. i think it shouldve had a collage of the pontiacs on the front. i got like 100 pics as well. ill post on here too. i got a nice shot of your car ed. and i belive 87bird's car leaving the line in the drags.
