Alabama goes #1, Penn State had a bye this week. Penn State should be #1 (if they played), I agree.

The Question is, Does TT keep the pace through OK and OK State? After the emotional game last night it will be easy for them to lose their edge.
I would say Penn State has a legit case for #1, but if TT runs the gauntlet out for the rest of the year, they will be a tough opponent for whoever else gets placed in the national championship game.

I don't see any reason to have PSU as #1, but IMO the only reason that TT is #2 is because Penn State didn't play.
That was an absolutely awesome game though, that play right before the final TD where the ball was tipped, it felt like the ball was hanging in the air forever... I had never seen such a swarm to run on the field at the end of a game hahah
Texas Tech has a tough schedule there is no doubt, but the same can be said for a few other teams in the Big 12 and SEC. Running the table in either of those conferences is not easy, especially considering they are the only conferences to have a Conf. Championship game (although in the past more often than not I've seen that game NOT impact the standings for the BCS games...). It's gonna be a good end of the season for College Football.

I think Texas lost because, although an extremely disciplined team, they are not an emotional team. Emotions can go either way, but in this case, we watched a team that was all fired up, in their own house, that was determined to run #1 the **** over.
TT also finally had an opponent that they could show what having the most disciplined offensive and defensive lines in college football can do for you. I never would have believed that a rotating 4 or 3 man front could put that much pressure on a QB as mobile as McCoy. It was all discipline and straight lines.
The biggest shocker of the week to me is that Utah isn't in the top 5. They beat the Sooners up pretty bad, yet they are ranked behind them? How the AP can leave a 9-0 team that far back in the polls when they have beaten some good teams I don't understand. Not saying that one loss should automatically drop a team behind all of the undefeated teams, but a one loss team shoudl at least be behind the team that beat them.
I think PSU is getting screwed a little in the polls too. I think they are a better team than Alabama and now Texas Tech has jumped past them.

I'm happy with the Gators being #5. The should be undefeated though.

Texas had some atrocious defensive plays, including the final play of the game (more or less). Thrown into double coverage, granted the receiver is quite good, standing less than a foot from the sideline, just push the damn guy out of bounds. There were many others I saw where I just thought wtf...?
Agreed on the front line, and it was more obvious when you compared McCoy's stats to his other games. I don't remember exact numbers but his completion was not near what it had been in previous games. Under pressure a whole lot more could do that to you.
I personally don't beleive PSU is a better team, but that's just my opinion. And judging from previous behavior in the polls, I would be willing to bet that had PSU played, they would be #2. Being idle I'm not surprised they didn't move.
I like Saturday football much more than Sunday football
