Nope, brass should always be used....stainless will also rust over time, just not as quickly as mild steel.

In an 1981 2 door Bonneville....lol. Was a 5.7L diesel but was swapped out before my dad got it, then I got it from him. Water pump went on a ride home and I pushed it past 3 overheat sessions....lol. Would burn up 20 gal of water in 20 miles.....
