what oil do you use

What oil are you running in your car and why? I am running mobil 1, I was running royal purple, and i may switch to amsoil. I have been looking for a rating that compares the oils what makes one better than the other. The only thing i am possitive about is using synthetic.

In my GN's... Delo or Delvac

In the LS1's just regular old dino oil.

My stuff gets castrol GTX. In my opinion, as long as you change your oil every 3k and use a decent oil and filter, you don't need anything more than dino oil. I don't understand why people feel the need to use oil that costs $8-$9 a quart in daily drivers and beaters. If I had a hot motor with a lot of money in it I would probably run better oil to help make it last, but thats about it. Anything more than the manufacturer recommends is overkill

Redline in the Z, I feel it holds oil pressure when hot better then other dino, but I run Quakerstate dino in the DD.

I use Mobil 1 in both DD Jeeps, with Napa Gold filters, changed approx. every 5k miles. No issues so far....

Haven't decided what I'll use in the Camaro yet. Prolly RP or Amsoil though.

I usually ask the previous owner and stick with whatever brand they were using. Changing oil brands can cause problems sometimes. If I don't know, I go with Castrol or Mobil 1. For a POS beater I used Proline and never had a problem.

The ram gets mobil 1. If engineers can spends lots of $ to test things and find that the higher end motors work best on mobil 1 then it is good enough for me.

M1 is the worst oil you can buy. i wouldnt use it in a lawnmower. the only reason it gets press is marketing, pure and simple. the worst conventional oil is better then M1. i gave away my last 10 qts because id never use it again.
