Power to Manual swap...
I have two sets of doors for my Camaro, one set in very good shape with power windows and locks installed, and another set in pretty poor shape with manual windows and locks installed. I want to convert the good doors to the manual controls.
Anyone ever done this, or know of anyone that has that can toss out some pointers?

No, my car came from the factory with manual windows and locks, and came to me with doors that are beat up. I got a very good price on a mint set of doors, but they are full power and I don't feel like adding all of the wiring and switches to be able to use the power options.

Might be easier to add the wires.

well thats a different scenario then lol Shouldn't be too bad, just a lot of drilling and riveting or bolting I would imagine

yeah i would think its just drilling out the rivets out the motors and removing the wiring. i would imagine the regulators are the same. as long as you have the correct door panels it should be no big deal

Yea I don't expect it to be too bad, just looking for any advice since I've never done any work on a power lock or window assembly before.
And yes, I have the correct door panels for the manual controls (although I'm pretty sure the only difference is the hole for the window crank).

I'd not be surprised if the regulators are different.
I would be willing to assist you in the wiring aspect - in fact may already have the required harness parts here at MMS HQ.

Meh....don't really want the power stuff. Ted is partially right
Plus I can reach the manual passenger controls from the driver's seat. I guess I'll have to take a look at the regulators.

Well, here's a writeup for manual to power, so I don't see why I can't go the other way

I 'think' the regulators either power or manual bolt into the same holes, it would just be a matter of drilling out the old and bolting in the new. Any other needed hole will be in the door frame. All you will been in a few nuts-bolts.
You just need to be careful removing the glass.
my .02, if needed while the door and window are out it real easy to replace the felts!
If you want to work on this one day let me know, What ya doing next Thursday night? That we be good, so if we need anything I can add it to my swapmeet list!
Wow, So you plan on having the car ready in TWO WEEK?!

That write up mentions that the different mounting holes in the door shell are drilled in every door, so it looks like it's only a matter of drilling out the rivets. I'll have to check the felts on the good power doors to see what kind of shape they are in, I know the ones on my stock manual doors are beat up.
