4 speed conversion

anybody here know if any G-bodies came with a manual trans? I'm putting a T-10 in the buick (can't pass up a T-10 for $200) and need a clutch pedal/master/slave set up.

I don't think any G body came with a manual trans. Thats based on the knowledge I know of Regals, Montes and Grand Prixs. I know there are a few cars out there the people put a manual trans in a G body.

They did come from the factory in 78-81 in 3,4 and 5 speed but they were rare. These guys sell a reproduction setup. http://www.elcaminomanufacturing.com/ Year One used to sell a repo setup but I don't see it on their site.
There is also a guy on http://www.Montecarloss.com/ that sell a setup that works with fbody hydraulics. You'll have to poke around to find it. They occasionally show up on ebay so you could check there as well.

As mentioned, you can use a factory bellhousing (ends in 606 for G-bodies) with the '78-'81 pedals/frame bracket/Z-bar setup and put that in front of your T10. Another option would be the repro pedals/linkage with a Lakewood bellhousing, or an aftermarket hydraulic slave/bellhousing setup with a custom clutch pedal that works with the hydraulics. You can't use a 3rd-gen F-body bellhousing/hydraulics with a T10 because the trans mount would wind up on a 17* tilt, instead of horizontal. Hope that helps ya!

people forget i built a gbody too.... for my gf at the time.

i did a 87 monte ss and installed a 88 iroc WC T5 setup.
i used the stock hydraulics, master and slave, got a crossmember modified for a 700r4/t5, and used the stock camaro tilted bellhousing.
i cut and welded the oem shifter to make up for the tilt.
i used a oem monte brake pedal, heated bent and reshaped as the clutch pedal and added an extra bracket under the dash.
worked great
but had plans to install a lt1 t56 in the car... then we broke up lol

malibus and elcaminos did come with factory manual as an option.
