Ls1 cam

What would you guys recommend? It is a 98 block, rods, pistons, crank that are getting cleaned up and new seals and bearings. Top end will be heads off a 2000+ ls1 with 8k on them completely stock. Roller rockers are harland sharp 1.7's, will have a fast 90/90, upgraded fuel pump. I will be getting the necessary push rods, lifters, and springs. Right now I have a 3500 tci stall and 3.43 gears but i might be throwing in a set of 3.73's. Car will also see a 75-100 wet shot occasionally. I'm looking for something with an aggressive idle the car will see the track once or twice a month and the street on the weekends for some cruising and fun. Right now im looking at this cam http://www.texas-speed.com/shop/item...d=169&catid=44

Thanks in advance.

I'd say that's a good cam selection
I might go a little less duration on the exhaust side.

Any reason why you don't just go with ls6/ls2 (243 casting) heads?

Only reason is money. With my 86 prostreet project taking most of my money im limited on what I can do with the 98 for now until i build my 408 down the road.

I would sell the fast 90 intake manifold and put on an ls6 manifold and get a set of 243 heads. Since the 243 heads will give you some more power with the same invested.

That cam in quite a bit on the small side I have a cam with a low to mid 230 duration and it has really good street manners. I'm also coming off a 3600 stall so the 3500 stall is comparable.

Not the smartest idea you will only see 10 to 15 rwhp gain from the 243s.... keep the 241 and the fast 90. I have done many builds with a cam very similar in size my 231/236 608/608 on a 112 with 241s and a 90/90 setup makes 400 easy to the tire on a dynojet

Slaptastic has that exact cam that you linked to, camaro2you. I would PM him. He loves it though. Sounds amazing with open headers.
