Early 2nd gen preferences?
If you were building an early 2nd gen Camaro, how would you set it up?
Do you prefer the look of a real rally sport with the split bumper or the non rally sport with the full straight bumper? I like the rally sport split bumper. A non rally sport with the split bumper just isn't right to me.
On a 70-73 Camaro, do you prefer the look of the 1 piece short spoiler like the 70 Z28's had or the 3 piece tall spoiler like all the rest have, or no spoiler at all? I prefer the look of the short 1 piece spoiler myself.
Front chin spoiler or none at all, that thing is pretty big? I like none.
Z28 stripes or no stripes or other style like Baldwin Motion? I'm 50/50 on the stripes so it doesn't really matter that much.
What wheels and what size? I've seen some with 17" TT2 that look pretty sweet with the right offset. You can't go wrong with the stock 15" Z28 5 spoke wheels but if you're building it custom it probably needs some decent wheels.
Interior, the stock interior really isn't that bad on the 2nd gens and maybe some custom gauges but I personally don't like the digital stuff.
Trailer hitch, class I, II or III?

full bumper, tall spoiler, front spoiler, wheel selection very dependent on paint, brakes and overall desired look. Better seats, gauges, but otherwise stock appearing inside. Class 1

rs split bumper, tall spoiler, front spolier, stock seats, autometer gauges in the stock dash bezel, big block and four speed, z-28 wheels, flat hood, stripes. pretty much this car but with a flat hood.

I like the tall 3 piece spoiler..best in my opinion. Front spoiler looks nice too. I prefer the look of the full bumper as opposed to the split bumper. Seems like everyone wants the split bumper so I suppose i'm in the minority. Stock gauges and a stock appearing interior is the best way to go in my opinion...if possible. If i had an original car I would probably try to stick with original drivetrain or as close to possible...but if not I'd be going with an LS1 or LT1 plus a T56. The original Z28 wheels look great also.

Personally, I would like to build a nice 70-73 RS with some form of EFI, 5 or 6 speed, 4 wheel disc brakes, decent suspension, wheels and tires. I don't listen to music so I don't need a high dollar stereo/tv setup and the stock seats aren't really that bad but I could do 4th gen seats for a little more comfort. I like the short spoiler, 50/50 about stripes, not sure about a cowl hood or stock flat hood and the front spoiler is 50/50 as well. Not sure what color I would prefer, but I do like the black after owning the SS396 I had. But I would need to sell the 2000 SS if I wanted to start another project and I still like that car so it's tough to do anything at this point in time. The 69 will be getting some long overdue attention next week so hopefully it will be painted Hugger Orange in the near future!

Id like to go with Coys wheels in a nice 17, with a 1LE front and the S10 brake swap in the rear. Better seats, but coverd in the same fabric, and go with a custom Autometer dash to look like factory.
200R4 swap as well, with a healty 350 or 383 up front.
Oh...and I want to keep the colum.

RS, front spoiler, low rise rear spoiler, Z stripes, HRE 897R wheels, Procar Rally seats and aftermarket gauges. Engine; preferrably a ZL1 but a big cube LS will do too with a 6 speed of course.
Oh and LOTS of carbon fiber

Wow, now I want Al's car!!! I love the split-bumpers, but if it was mine it'd have the tall rear spoiler. I'm also a fan of the !front spoiler. Keep the ride height Al has, install the budget-friendly brake upgrades, and add a set of 18" Boss 338s -
That's a winner IMO!

To me the flat hoods, L88 and stinger hoods look the best on these cars the cowl just looks awkward with the curves of the hood and front end. Kinda like someone just stuck a square wedge on the hood. Class V hitch is the only way to go

Whatever you decide do not; I repeat do not, do the standard Camaro from end with the RS bumpers installed. I've seen people try to fake the RS front by doing this and I think it looks horrible.
Oh, and I vote for one piece spoiler, front spoiler flat hood and I am 50/50 on the front end set up.
The early 2nd generation cars have too nice of lines to tack on special hoods and tall spoilers; let the body lines speak for themselves.

when i had my blue 1970 i was planning to keep it w/ the straight bumper, no spoiler, no chin spoiler, no stripes, and 17x9 and 17x11 TT2s chrome cause my car was dark blue and bumper and trim was all chrome... as for the interior i wanted to get a more recent new black interior from a 81..
ill look for pics... now
