Vette show
So I was out driving in my everyday vehicle an saw the local vette club was having a show at the local watering hole. went about my buisness and did what I needed to do. Came back later with my Camaro. Parked it and walked around. Saw a nice C4 with an L88 hood, a yellow c5 with the blacked out tail pannel and 2 old rods. One was a 30 Model A with a 350 Chevy with block hugger headers, air, and full fenders. The other had a smallblock with headers, and no fenders. The few people that were there in the lot didn"t say hello ,the only person that said hello was the DJ. So I got back in my car and drove off. This wasn't my first experience with the OGSCC. Sorry I didn't arrive in a vette ,but at least say hello. Don't let me in to your show, then ignore me.Thats being a dick.

Meh, some vette owners are tools. I had a guy at a local show tell me it's impossible that his C5 and my car shared the same motor. I popped the hood for him... He said that mine didn't have a mobil1 cap--
There are vette owners that are very cool though. I get waves from some vette owners, even a brand new silver ACR Viper yesterday on 287--That one I wasn't expecting though

Theres really 2 crowds of corvette owners.
-The ones that are cool, like cars in general, and picked up a corvette because they were at that point in their life where they were able to do so. A corvette is just another GM product with different design elements to these people.
-The ones that think the corvette is the only performance car GM makes, and refuse to recognize anything else as good looking or good performing. These are the guys that show up in crowds of 50 to car shows, and park together generally wherever they feel like it, usually the area that most people will walk through. These guys are generally 50+ years old, and wear hawaiian shirts or corvette apparel (hats, polo shirts, pants, shoes, jackets) and velcro sandals. They like to talk to other vette owners about other vette stuff and how all other cars don't look as good as a corvette.

Yup. There you go.
1.) Nice guys who buy a vette because they like them (usually the guys with really cool cars).
2.) Assclowns who buy a vette as a status symbol or because they are elitist pricks. These are the guys who will argue with you for hours about oil filters, shocks, and brake pads but look at you funny when you say "duration at .050".

I had a good friend that helped me do a LOT of work on my car; we swapped in the suspension, rear, and first motor and trans all in my driveway. He was a great guy to hang out with. Then he bought a new '02 Z06, joined the Corvette club, and I haven't really talked to him since then. Not sure what happened, but it seemed like he joined the Vette frat and didn't want to know anything about those "lesser vehicles."
On the other hand, my uncle has an '00 Vette 'vert with a whopping 8K miles on it, and he's in that other class of Vette owners. He was just a guy that grew up loving 'Vettes and regretted selling his '63 so many years ago so he could afford college. Hell, if I didn't want to haul my kids around to car shows, I'd find a way to have his Vette in my garage.
