Ordered a new car for the wifey
Yup, the 1 yr lease on her 09 ML320 Bluetec is almost up so I placed an order for a new car.
I'm REALLY pissed I haven't been able to take it to the track - I've done it with all previous cars but my neck and back are still problems and I am still trying to get into srgery - insurance companies suck major balls though
2010 C300 Sport 4-Matic (all wheel drive) - black
Premium 1 package:
Heated front seats
Auto dimming mirrors
Garage door opener - we don't have a garage
Rain sensing wipers
Memmory seats
Surius Radio
Multimedia Pakage:
Comand system with hard drive based navi
Voice control
6 disc CD/ MP3 player
7 inch screen
PCMCIA memory card reader
Ipod/ MP3 interface unit
6GB hard drive with music registry
Grace note media database
So, now we will have 2 C classes for a while - she will have the black sport model - mine is the silver luxury model - both have the same options - her's will look tons better due to being a sport model.
I do one year leases through work and we have it set up that every 6 months we get a new car I dunno what I'll get in May.... time shall tell

Get the new E. Car is growing on me a little bit. The odd headlights are a bit goofy looking, and the LED fog lights dont sit right with me either.

as weird as led foglights look, its the perfect application IMO. i was playin with my little dinky ones, man are they bright! would work great for that extra 10 feet low to the ground. plus, its freakin leds, they last forever! figure how many led 3rd brake lights there, how often they are on, and how long they last! your fogs will last 10x that!! plus power consumption is down.

I love the C-class sports.
I'd still give my left nut and 3 pints of blood for a C63.

How was the fuel mileage with the diesel? Did you like it? Any maintenance problems?

Yup, E is too much money right now. Once it has been out for a while, the lease price will come down. I've had 2 of them (2006 and 2007) and I would love to get back in one.
Bluetec is diesel
Fuel economy - I see around 25 around town. I see 28-31 on the highway doing around 70-75 - and even seen 32 mpg doing 60-65. Pretty damn good for an all wheel drive SUV.
I love the truck - engine is perfect with power. I have one major complaint - the run flats SUCK! If I bought one, it would be the first thing I would change. The run flats are extremely rigid so the ride is harsh. I have 19 inch wheels on the truck and a buddy has an ml350 with 19's and exact same options except for the run flats and his rides perfectly.
Now, keep in mind, I am complaining about stiffness of the tires.... but I have lots of back/ neck problems so it may not ride too hard for most people.
As for maintenance.... I had a service A done a couple months ago and it cost around $400 - about $100 of it was for refilling the adblue tank - this is the additive that injects into the exhaust to make it 50 state legal. You need to refill the adblue tank every 10,000 miles (basically when you are getting a service a/b done - that's an oil change). You could buy adblue cheaper.....but I went with conveneince and had the dealer do it.

in the current setup, nox isn't tested on gasoline motors and diesels under a certain gvwr were just a safety check. the program is in a changing phase though so we'll see what the hell is goin on soon enough.
