Hydroboost brakes
I've been looking into installing hydroboost brakes on my car. The main reason is so I can hold more Rpm's/boost on the line. This system can double your braking force without changing anything else accept the vaccuum assist unit that is installed in our cars. The system runs off of the power steering unit. Guys over at Turbo buick.com have done this mod using junkyard units out of a chevy Astro van. I havn't been able to find any info though in the f-body world. There is a company that sells the unit for our f-bodies called hydrotech. It is a complete unit (brand new). Has any one done this mod or heard any pros or cons?

A lot of guys report HB can make for a fairly touchy brake pedal.
Hydratech is the leader in conversions and customer service from what I have read.

Oh, then there is the issue of your PS pump not being up to the task, so an upgrade there may be necessary. Maybe call Turn One when you get more detailed plans. And you'll probably want a good external PS cooler.
And you might need to change MC in order to maintain reasonable pedal action. I always screw this up in my head, but I think you may end up needing a larger bore MC.
And you may have to modify the mounting brackets on the back of the boost unit, depending on which one you use.

The VSC is a really nice piece but won't work in my car. I have the 4l60e.
The hydroboost will give me two upgrades a better braking system and a way to hold boost on the line something I can't do now. And the beauty of it all is I don't have to open the trans up to install it. I just ordered a rebuilt hydroboost unit from advanced auto for $109. Hoses for the install should run another $150 and I plan on doing all the mods and work myself. I'll be posting up some pics when I get started.
