Storage
Im not really sure where this is supposed to go so bear with me on this. I have some very sad news, coming soon the time will be that i need to put my car into storage. I have the 95 LT1 Black w/ gold racing stripes camaro. I might have to store it for up to four and a half years. I just need to know what i need to do to ensure that i keep the car protected and i have the least amount of work possible come the time that it is ready for the road again. Thanks in advanced

sell it. 4 years is a long time to store a car thats only gonna decrease in value in that time.

Will it be indoors or outdoors? Will anyone be around to drive it?

Given that they will help you store it, I would:
1.) Change the oil
2.) Pull the battery, put it inside on a battery tender.
3.) Drain most of the gas, (leave 1/4 tank) add sta-bil to the rest of it
4.) Put it up on jackstands
5.) Put dessicant bags in the interior to kill any smell. Under an all weather cover it can get some odor.
Every 3 months or so your parents should take it off of the stands and drive it around, burning off most of the gas. Then fill to 1/4 with sta-bil.

Idea is good, but that means it needs to be insured, the folks need to get the car on & off jackstands, and lug around a battery. screw the jackstands, the tires will be beat in 5 years anyway. Get an extension cord for a battery tender.
You may regret not just selling it.

Yea i hate to say it, but storing the car for 4 years or more is probably going to end up being a lot more trouble than it is worth. Im assuming since you are going to store the car you will not be able to drive at all during the duration? If so, why not sell it and save up some more $$ and after the 4 years try and get your hands on an '02 LS1 or something similar.

^^that is what I'd do. Is the car really special or rare or something, or just yours (which I get).

is it better to see it rot outside?
If you are really not going to use it for 4+ years, sell it.

+1. I think that is the smartest/most economic decision

It not like a lt1 camaro is rare or expensive or anything. Nasty is right, sell it and buy another one later down the road.

if you want to keep it and have it outside, there is also an outdoor version cover...
www.carcapsule.com
i highly recommend one of these. i put my camaro away for months at a time and when i take it out, its the same way i left it.
