Z06 Carbon Edition
In short, Z06 with ZR1 hardware.
http://www.gminsidenews.com/forums/f...6/#post2006069
Quote:
“For track use, the Z06 Carbon is the best balanced Corvette yet. It combines the lightweight and naturally-aspirated Z06 engine with the road-holding and braking of the ZR1,” said Tadge Juechter, Corvette Chief Engineer. “For technical tracks like Laguna Seca, the Z06 Carbon could shave up to three seconds off the Z06 lap time.”
This limited edition Z06 will boast Brembo carbon ceramic brakes with specific dark gray metallic calipers. These powerful brakes were first introduced on the ZR1. Black 20-spoke 19-inch front/20-inch rear wheels complement the car’s Michelin PS2 tires. Other mechanical features include Magnetic Selective Ride Control for the first time on the Z06 and enhanced cooling. The car also features a special carbon pattern engine cover.

Ok, GM, you could have stopped at the rest of the car.. little overkill with the carbon stuff... ...
Looks nice though, price tag?

the Z06 was already a fast mother****er now how fast will it be. i doupt it will come close to the zr1 because gm tones down car to always be slower than the best vette, which i think is stuipid but oh well

They said 3 seconds off the Ring time, which would put it VERY close to the ZR1.
Z06 is some 200lbs lighter then a ZR1, with only 138hp difference....could be a VERY close race.
There is nothing "detuned" about this car.

Al have you heard any word as to how much longer GM will produce the LS7/Z06? I remember hearing a while back that they needed to pull that engine from production because of emissions/corporate fuel average concerns.

The LS7 will probably end with the C6. The reason we got the LS7 was because of more restrictive rules in ALMS to have production-spec engines in the racing series. So it was either a smaller engine in the C6R or put a 7 liter engine in a handful of production cars.
Now that the C6R has a 5.5 liter engine (due to displacement limits), and the Gen V's coming out, I dont think we will see the LS7. Not to mention, its very expensive to make, more then the LS9.

That makes sense. I wasn't aware of the 5.5 liter ALMS rule. I guess that will be the death nail for that motor.
So the LS7 costs more to make than the LS9? However GM charges $8k more for the LS9 crate motor. Wow, they must be laughing all the way to the bank.
