Computer guys, in here

Recently a bunch of stuff happened with my little brother's laptop and long story short he's now got a fresh install of XP SP3.

The problem is we can't get it to use our wireless network. It works via LAN no problem, I even used it to get him a bunch of drivers and update them. It's able to connect to the network but it says "limited or no connectivity." Any ideas?

Laptop is Acer Aspire One AOA150

Sorry for asking the stupid questions. Just have to get them out of the way.

Next:

1.) The wireless privacy switch (if applicable) is in the right spot?
2.) The power profile isn't disabling anything dumb?

Well it's one of a few things.

MAC filtering on the router.
misconfiguration of the network interface on the client (control panel -> network settings)
Drivers need updating
incorrect wireless profile.

Try to remove the wireless profile out of the saved list (I think umm.. control panel -> network settings then something along the lines of connect to a network or network settings... I forgot where it was in XP). Delete the wifi profile (it stores SSID, password, authentication mode, encryption mode, etc) and try again.

Ensure your drivers are up to date, and double check the router settings haven't changed. Other than that.. it should work.

I don't believe it has a privacy switch and the power profile is set to home/office desk while i'm working on it

Problem Solved: on the wireless router they provide a key for the network (fios) but what they don't tell you is the text they have in caps should be lower case...
