QR codes and smartphones...

Earlier I was looking at decals on a website, and they offer custom QR decals.

At first, i had no idea what this was other than seeing these "barcode type" images for Blackberry messenger friending. And i only knew that scanning them would make that person added to your contacts.

But apparently these codes can also be electronic business cards, used in retail, or linked to websites. cool right?

So then i wondered... does my phone have the ability to read these? and yes yes it does, I just needed to download a free app(neoreader- thanks android platform) and now i can even scan regular barcodes, QR codes, aztec codes and an additional type.

I think the NJFBOA store should sell ones coded to link to this site, or just get the codes, and have it printable when members can leave it on an fbody they see. Knida brings the whole "Flyering" into a new age of technology.

..and yes, this may be old news for all of you, but i just got a smartphone finally. lol

Google goggles is also a pretty nifty app. Take a picture of something, and it will be scanned and searched for on google.
Also, on Yelp!, there's the Monocle feature. Basically, it uses GPS to find stores and shops in your area, and displays them on your screen as if you're looking at them. Click the pop up bubble, and it gives you the phone number(which it can dial for you), reviews, and directions.
