Meal Replacement Shakes
Anyone use them before? My schedule is hectic and despite my regular visits to the gym, I still find myself putting weight on because of a crappy diet. If the hype of these things is true, they should be dually beneficial for me. For one, it would be a way to cut calories, and also a way to get a light meal in without having to run out or pack it up the night before. What do you guys say? I'm sure there is better out here, but I'd likely start by trying a tub from GNC. Thanks guys

GNC's stuff is overpriced and low quality. I like Optimum's stuff the best.

^^Optimum Nutrition is high quality stuff. If you are looking to protein shakes for a meal replacement you might want to consider mixing proteins. Hydrolyzed for quick release/absorbtion and maybe Casein for a slower/longer source. One after the gym would be best

I use SlimFast most mornings, and occasionally for dinner as well if I"m lazy and don't have anything available. Protein shakes made me sick, and I tried a bunch of different ones. SlimFast worked well for me, since I lost 20 pounds over the past year (also went to the gym and ran a couple 5ks).

Clif bars are the ****! hey have organic ingredients and taste GREAT!!! One of them is like 250 calories and curve my appetite even though they aren't supposed to as they are a energy bar but they are great. They are .97 at Walmart and 550 for the box of 6. I have like 4 boxes here lol. I buy their protein bars also and eat them after a workout

I use their protein after I work out. I ordered a big container and it was far cheaper than GNC's stuff. It won't be in for a month or so, so I'm gonna give GNC's stuff a try first.

That's all I needed to hear. I'm gonna give it a whirl this week. Thanks!

Be careful with protein quality if you get high protein shakes. Whey isolate or better only. No concentrate if you can avoid it.

Didn't know that. Thanks. My friend wanted to source me protein that was some sort of animal derivative. I said it tasted awful, but was good stuff. I like the Optimum stuff I have now, although the stuff I had before (forgot what it was) tasted far better.

I've probably had 15+ brands of protein over the years. ON was the only brand I stuck with, and buy in 10 lb bags. High quality protein, aminos, glutamine, mixes easily, tastes great, low cholesterol.
