Looks like one more way to make them all even. I will continue to pass on all things nascar.

Well, with all the teams making an adjustment I'd hope it would make things a bit more wacky, at least for a season. I still think they should give each driver 10lbs of N2O to use per race. They can choose where and when. And hopefully some of the NASCAR tech will trickle down to the regular automotive world.

I went to Darlington last year, people watching was just as fun as watching the race.

Did you watch the Bud shootout? They were running damn near 10k rpm. Add some N2O and they could really be in trouble.

Yup. They could choose if they want to use it or not. If it goes boom, sorry, try again next Sunday.

the shootout was crazy. 206mph at daytona is nuts. im just pissed that mark martin took himself (and kyle busch) out so early.
Fuel Injection should be interesting in the future

I dunno. I see this as a bigger statement
Quote:
“The units just won’t work unless they have the authorized NASCAR code,” he said. “It’s impossible to tamper with the units.
“I guess the key areas of bringing a system into such a popular and successful racing series as NASCAR is being able to ensure that the performance is maintained and that the systems are reliable and everything is completely fair and equal for all competitors.”
|
than this
Quote:
Mike Messick, chief engine tuner for Roush-Yates Engines, said the change will leave room for team innovation.
“There will be areas that some people will spend more time working on than others,” he said. “It depends on what NASCAR does with the injectors. I believe NASCAR will give us some areas to work in.”
|
I base this on nascar's innovation past squashing ways in the name of fairness, which itself is a comically absurd statement. Let's be fair, but let's allow 5 car teams. Ya, ok.
Hey, maybe they will move away from a 1967 C10 rear suspension one day.

They should stop being little girls and build the tracks larger, and drive faster.
While its mainly who has the biggest budget who wins, it would be cooler to see people winning based off of tweaks etc.

People also watch the jersey shore, so voluntarily watching bad television is not something new.

I've.....got....nothing. You guys pretty much summed up NASCAR, Jersey Shore and Seinfield in a matter of minutes.

I still say NASCAR needs to quit trying to be a spec series. Either go all out and not let teams prep their own cars anymore, or go back to using a stock body with necessary safety improvements. Give everyone a 4" front airdamn and a 4" rear spoiler, and let the best combo win. Let the factories compete again. Last time a manufacturer really tried to gain an advantage was back in 2000 when part of the Monte Carlo's design was to assist with downforce on the track (and NASCAR ended up squashing most of that advantage anyway).
But alas, we all know that the odds of either of these things happening are slim to none.

Whatever they chose to do as long as it helps bring in more fans. great example from the bud shootout cars going 206mph and drivers having so much fun they got white knuckles holding onto the steering wheel. daytona will be interesting since they will make changes to the airdams casuing the cars to not be able to draft as long.

Whoa! Seinfeld jokes? Great show, you guys have no taste!
I still dont believe in a racing series that does not help the production car.
If they wanted to put a bunch of turbo 4's making 500hp to run 500 laps around the track, I would be way more impressed if that same type of engine was in my Malibu.
Return On Investment, NASCAR has none.

+1 here... that used to be it... win on sunday sell on monday. I like Justins idea of stock bodies and factory supported teams. Like AMA superbike!

That is still a big sore spot. They have to do something about it, which is why I've got that harebrained N2O idea.
