Doesn't exist. You used to be able to do it on some of the HTC phones, but not anymore.

What phone do you have? I would just root it and enjoy

Yea, I rooted my DX a few weeks after I bought it with Z4 Root. One touch to unroot if you need to send it in for service or anything. I haven't messed with new roms or anything yet, just using some of the pluses that rooting gets ya.

My EVO is going back for the EVO3D next week...I've never rooted a phone, still learning about all of this custom crap for the smartphones...what's the point or benefit of rooting one?

Rooting is typically pretty simple - there are several available apps that will do it for you, some work better on certain phones than others. I used Z4 Root on my DX....just installed it, clicked one button, wait a few minutes, phone reboots, and it's all set. My original intentions were to install the Liberty rom (customized version of the OS), but I haven't gotten around to it yet.

I also rooted my mom's Nook Color, but that was more complicated (well worth it for any Nook Color owners out there - it's a great budget Android tablet).

But what are the advantages? Does it stop the bloatware from the phone make & carrier from loading up?

Yes, I have silenced all the bloatware that came with it (Blockbuster, City ID, etc), removed the camera shutter sound (no, i'm not a creeper - it just annoys me), moved cache data to the SD card (saves space on internal memory). I haven't played with over / under clocking yet, but there are several apps that will allow you to do so to gain speed or conserve battery power.

Then there is also the free wifi hotspot apps that let you turn your phone into a wifi hotspot without paying the monthly fee to your carrier (carrier obviously frowns on this, but as long as you don't abuse it and rack up multiple GBs worth of transfer monthly the odds of them seeking you out for it are pretty much nil).
