quick rig shots

I had some free time so I set up my rig and took a few shots right outside my house. I used my 20D which has a cropped sensor so I couldn't get wide enough to get the whole car, when I have time for a nicer location I'll borrow my brothers' 5D and get the whole car, anyway here ya go:

I didn't spend a whole lot of time editing the rig out so shhhhhh

Nice man, I think they came out good for testing. Would look real cool if you had something written on the calipers. Are you using the body's timer?

hahah yeah it looks a lot better on cars with big brake kits and thinner spoke wheels, and the third picture looks better on cars with wider rear tires but I was just messing around with different shots since I couldn't get wide enough to get the whole car

and yes I'm using the camera timer, for these I was just pushing/pulling the car so it was easy enough

I'll get some tomorrow, I have them somewhere but can't find them

it's pretty much the standard top-of-car rig

-2 F1000 suction cups
-3 manfrotto superclamps
-magic arm
-10' of electrical conduit

the conduit is what's killing me, way too heavy, I have a cable support system that helps a lot but I'm going for aluminum eventually. I found some closet piping that's aluminum at lowes that I keep thinking about but we'll see.

Man, those shots look awesome; it looks like you're speeding down the road, but in reality you're just pushing the car. Great work!!

very cool pics..

yet i always have this question.. why blur out your license plate? its not like you were doing anything illegal in the pics? and when u drive down the road any other day... thousands of people can write down your plate #. just makes no sense to me .

otherwise, cool pics. if i had some $ id like the chance to get some motion pics like that for sure. nice

thanks!

I can't wait to go out with a clean car and try again with a full frame camera

I usually don't blur the license plate, I was just debating posting them in a few other places and I figured since other people do it I might as well
