Shed kits, where to buy?

Due to the October snowstorm I have been forced to build a new shed earlier than anticipated. Looking for some sort of wooden shed kit that I can assemble myself. Anyone gone this route? Hoping to keep the cost around 1500-1800 or so, and would like approx. 100sq ft. Thanks guys.

Jon for that size I have one of those rubber maid sheds you can get at the depot. About $700, it has worked out well for a few years now.

try Kens Barns, they are already constructed, have used them a few times and was very happy with products and prices

Can't hang deer from the rafters of a rubbermaid shed. Those amish sheds look nice, but if I can get a bigger one for cheaper by building myself, I'd rather go that route.

do you have the skills to build it yourself from scratch? if so there should be good plans on the net or even at the library you can follow.

+1 and you can save a couple bucks by going with rough cut lumber and/or asking if they have any mess up oders that they are tossing out you could get some lumber from, Rings End lumber back in CT use to do 4 30-yard dumpsters every 3 months to clear out mess ups, i saw a ton of house raffers fully assembled throwing in that dumpster, i grabbed a few up and cut em down to use underneath the roll-off boxes we dropped off to prevent them from sinking in

hey jon... i put a 10x10 shed up at my parents before i moved out. i think all said and done i spent about 1100 all together. Shed didnt come with the wooden floor base or the roof shingles. but came with everything else. its mostly mad of press board and the outside is that waynes coating stuff (like a verticle pattern paneling) i mean im sure there is stronger out there but for storing tools and lawn equipment in it keeps everything dry and out of the elements. its about 3 years old now and shows absolutely no signs of wear or weathering. I got the kit at the home depot. btw assembly goes alot faster if you use a nail gun.

yea have fun with that... permits are so stupid for most things... and should be free IMO...

check ordinance. lots of towns do not require a permit for structures less than 100 sf or 'temp structures' . do your due diligence

Yea, in most towns there are lots of variables based on square footage, what type of footing it's on, etc.

Yup. Readington twp requires sheds to be anchored to the ground with small concrete footings. Even 10x10s.

I'm curious to know the township. As stated above, many don't require permits for freestanding structures. In my neck of the woods, I can drop one of those huge, pre-fabbed sheds with a garage door on my property with no issues.

Franklin Twp.(Somerset Co) Zoning official told me a "Zoning Permit"($25) was required for any structure up to 100sq ft. Over 100 required a Zoning Permit and Construction Permit($50).

You may not need a permit if you are replacing an existing structure on the same foot print.

Specifically asked about this and was told I needed a Zoning permit. Absurd. At least I don't have to deal with a freaking HOA.
