Welcoming another LT1 home :)

Just bought a 1994 Z28, automatic with 115k on the clock. Motor runs very well, it was female owned most of its life (she had a baby in the car).
Brand new tires (275/40/17s), moroso CAI, otherwise stock. Just had a new GM opti/plugs/wires installed. Aftermarket hood, WS6 wheels and it's got a few blemishes in the paint/front bumper.
Got it fairly cheap because it needs a water pump (I have one sitting around). Doing the water pump down the road in a firehouse garage and driving it home.

Plan on driving it til it snows (since I already pre-paid another 2 months on insurance for my TA which is undergoing some work). Eventually want to do headers/y-pipe/100 shot and play with it only at the drag strip.

Lol well it was a good deal and like I said it will be fun to bring an automatic to the track. I imagine 100 shot and intake/exhaust/gears can go into the mid to low 12s. Just another toy I suppose

$1,000. It needs a water pump and t-stat. (I have a water pump laying around).

Brand new 275/40/17's radials. WS6 Wheels. New moroso CAI. Aftermarket fiberglass hood. No rust. Minimal damage. Motor runs like a top, first LT1 i looked at that didn't have oil built up in the throttle body. Head gaskets were done a few months back, full tune up, etc.

Yup.

I am actually really surprised at the mistake, too- considering ZR1s are probably the most common wheel swap. Like torq thrust II's on a 67-81 car.

Oh cool. well she's home now but here is the last picture in the light:

For now it has CAI and catback. I want to cut the cat out, get a set of pacesetter long tubes/y-pipe, and a 2 stage NX system (but only hook up a single stage 100 shot for now). Later on I want to get a different torque converter and run it til it blows. Then I have big plans to build an all out drag car.

Trans Am is getting a clutch and getting sold. Figure it will fund my heads/cam/valve train. Sell the supercharger/brackets/pulleys/ignition box separately and at least cover the machine work or direct port nitrous.

Yeah. Not interested in a "fast/quick" street car. I have come to the reality that I can't shift a 6 speed fast (or consistently) enough to ever have fun drag racing it.

Even after the small 100 shot goes on the motor, it will not have license plates.

Either way, the truck is done and just needs tires to be acceptable in my eyes. The Trans Am will get a new clutch after the winter and be sold/parted out/etc or made into a daily driver.

In other news I had the car out on I-80 today. I was wondering why it sounded like it was screaming and yet cars were flying past me. On 275/40/17's at 3,000 RPM it was only doing about 65 MPH in over drive... guess now I know why a bone stock LT1 was capable of breaking those wide radials loose at 40 MPH lol. I gotta admit (I assume it is 4.56), 4.56's are a pisser on the road. Tap the gas and it goes sideways.

1. ET be damned, it's the only place you can legally go very fast in a straight line...if you enjoy it, doesn't matter what the ET is.

2. There is far more to enjoying driving cars than drag racing. Ask many drag racers and they'll regret not having a quick street car.

Try auto-crossing your 6 speed.

Try auto-crossing your A4 and then try it with the 6 speed.

Or try to triple stamp a double stamp... Lloyd
