turbo exhaust help
so it seems no matter what car i get i cant get away from the exhaust never wanting to cooperate. i have an 02 camaro 383 stroker with amongst other things a decent cam and a pt7675 cea turbo under my butt. ive been trying to find some short tube headers that dont suck because when i come to a stop the exhaust likes to choke my engine down to almost stalling. a definite scavenging from what i can tell. but while i was tuning and searching the weld on my waste gate pipe cracked from the vibration of the exhaust. i had it re-welded and added a flex pipe to try and remove some of the vibration and well wouldnt ya know it made it worse. now i can hear my exhaust banging on my floor boards. i have to put it up on my lift to see just where its hitting but its definitely hitting hard enough that i'm sure i'll tear that flex pipe to pieces. right now its stock headers, magnaflow cats, stock y pipe, 3" borla pipe from the original cat back and it necks down to the turbo. anybody have setups that they dont have issues with? i dont want to go to a long tube header, i've read that it ups the rpm's i'll create boost at by 1,000 and its already just above where i'd like it. also anyone with ideas on the shake, its like an epileptic with tourettes having sex while riding mechanical bull during a rave. (its bad) i'll post pics and try n get a vid up soon.
