Cool Hot Rod power tour 2013? anybody from Jersey going?

I'm really considering doing the hot rod power tour this year, in my car, and am curious as to if anybody here has made the long haul to make one of these events. if you plan on going this year or not. just curious to see how far some of us go to make it. this year it starts in Arlington Texas and ends in Charlotte NC which means i could run right back up to Jersey pretty easily.

I can't, already have plans the first weekend. Doing the long haul is on my bucket list.

I would love to long haul one year, but I don't think this is going to be the year. I would really need a co-pilot to get out there though, lol.

I would love to do a power tour, but all the west and midwest routes are too far for me

I Long Hauled in both 2006 and 2007 and all I can say is that it's an awesome trip. Use a car that is reliable and have at least one other person with you to share the driving with and talk to during the day. The people are all friendly as can be, everything is organized great, great shows in the stops each day and the town is flooded at night with people on tour out at all the local watering holes. You'd be amazed at how many people in the middle of the country will sit out in their yards in the middle of a weekday just to watch the thousands of cars roll by.

If you have the money and the time absolutely do it. I hope to again someday but right now my family and business are taking up too much time.
